The Standings have been updated while we enter the last 3rd of season 12 PDF Print E-mail

Whilst waiting for the completion of the report for race 11 from last weekend, heres an update on the standings so you know who you need to beat in the upcoming race on KY3R (race 12).

I think its no surprise to anyone that [WCL]J. Katila is dominating the standings in first place, but with 4 races to go and last weeks points not counted, there is a total of 60 points maximum to grab. This means that the championship is still up for grabs by many racers as we dwelve deeper into the FX2 series vehicles, which our current leader has admitted to not be the biggest fan of.

13-Veijalainen in second place might be a surprise to some, but though he may not be up there as the quickest in qualifying, he probably makes the least mistakes out of the leading pack. This has lead to solid finishes throughout the season, including being in 2nd place on 3 occasions, and racked up a total of 75 points. As the closest in total points to J.Katila we will look to him to fight for his opening win in the upcoming races.

!PINK Harabla only joined us 3 races into the season, but with good speed he settled into being a name you would see in the top 4 on most occasions. With 2 of the last race wins under his belt he is the only one to stand on the top spot that isn't [WCL]. Overall then, the speed is definately there to challenge J.Katila on a good day, but Harablas biggest enemy seems to be the walls around the circuit, with most chases sadly ending up in the wall.

[WCL] J.A.Katila is sitting in 4th place, only 4 points behind Harabla. J.A.Katila has definately been a regular force to contend with this season, turning up to every race and never giving up the fight easily. Though his son may be on the same team, team-orders ain't part of how WCL like to run as we have seen multitudes of fights between these two, and although the younger may be faster, it doesn't mean life is made easy for him. a little bird told the lfs.be team that J.A.Katila, along with his team, raced a lot of FX2 setups on the now extinct cargame.nl servers, so maybe there are some tricks he knows that others don't that will give him the edge for the remaining races.

Rounding up the theoretical title challengers are the, what I like to call, 'Old Guard'. Salatoimic (54 pts), Xtian (50pts), and a little further back Hanziboy (39pts). With 60 points to give out all of our admins have a shot at the lead, though most can agree that it would take a sort of divine intervention for this comeback to be possible. With that said do not disregard these guys on the track. They have been busy lately and therefore not had the time to practice but I can tell you from experience, they know how to race.

So who's your money on? I would guess the smart money is on J.Katila to pull through in the final races and claim the championship, as even if someone were to replace him as quickest on track, there is no doubt he will be a strong finisher. With that said if you like playing the odds you haveatl east 3 to choose from, place your bets and see you on the track.

Lastly I would like to round up with what I'll call... the wildcards. These guys may not have a shot at the championship but we know they are fast and they could produce some interesting quirks in the points of other racers by snatching a win or two. Firstly, Ernest: Sitting at 44 pts he still has the chance to atleast make 3rd place but as far as we know he is having some internet issues as of late, making him miss the races. We are looking forward to him fixing those issues and bringing the speed that we has seen him produce earlier in this season. Second, !PINK MrHamSandwich: Only participated in 2 official races, but along with a few practice races we have seen on the lfs.be server we know he can be quick. How quick? remains to be seen but with him snatching 2nd place in the first part of race 11 (spoiler alert) only 5 seconds behind J.Katila, he does seem to have the potential.
